First of all, it was a tremendous achievement by the New Zealanders … Winning one test match in India itself is a huge achievement. To sweep a series? Unbelievable! It could not have happened to a nicer set of guys (By the way, the nicest of them all missed this series 😉 ).

Second of all, winning 18 consecutive Test Series (!!!) at home was a stupendous achievement, lasting 12 long years. Nothing can (and should) take away from that achievement by the Indian Cricket Team.

Very clearly, Indian Cricket is already in a period of transition. Stalwarts like Virat, Rohit, Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja Etc. are nearing the end of their illustrious careers. Being a huge fan of Virat since 2013, I am sad to see his decline. But is it a surprise? Not at all. Father Time catches up with all of us.
