Sacred Valley is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Peru, which is of course dominated by Machu Picchu 🙂 I took a day-trip Tour to the Sacred Valley.

But man, were they pricey!“The potato that makes a lady cry” … In Peru future Mother-In-Laws judge brides by their ability to peel a potato perfectly … Imagine peeling this type 🙂Variety of Potato … Peru loves Potatoes!

Most of the shops were souvenir shops.Some colorful carpets …The sacred mountain of Ollantaytambo … Would have climbed it, if not for my ankle. If you look closely, you can see two “faces” … An angry Inca and a young Inca warrior …The angry ‘Inca” face … Zoomed.Ollantaytambo Ruins … Look how closely the Incas packed the rocks.A carved throne … Ollantaytambo Ruins, Sacred Valley, Peru.How the heck did Incas get these huge rocks up??? They apparently used sheer physical power and dragged these rocks over gravel. These rocks have Inca carvings and researchers are still working on their meaning …Variety of Corn … Peru loves Corn!
